On probably the last proper summer day of the year, I packed my bicycle and set off towards Walcheren, a peninsula in north Netherlands.
Our 75km route started in Walcheren's capital town Middelburg. We drove towards Veere and then followed the coast right around the peninsula.

A huge cathedral in Veere. Ironically, it was called the 'small church'.
Colourful window display of a sweet shop. The phrase 'snoep winkel' brought back memories of my school days.
Cute little houses and shops in Veere.

Back in Middelburg, the sky suddenly cleared again and I was lucky
enough to catch this picture perfect scene. Ending the day like this couldn't
have been better.
